:::: Thanks I downloaded the [http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS6/041-8518.20121029.CCrt9/iOSUpdater.ipa IPA mentioned in the PList]. I could sync it to the iPhone5 like a normal iPhone App. However this app is special. You can't delete it via the iPhone. Like the standard apps (stocks, weather, etc). Funny. You can delete it via iTunes though. However after having installed on the iPhone 5 one time you will no longer asked to download it via Software Update on the Phone. --[[User:M2m|M2m]] 09:06, 16 November 2012 (MST)

Nice to see you guys are having fun playing around with the updater :). If you want to install it the proper way, use the "Install" link I added to the page (on your iDevice). --[[User:Srb21103|Srb21103]] 00:59, 19 November 2012 (MST)

Where do you have this information from. Also is there an OTA link to Trampoline available ?--M2m 04:33, 16 November 2012 (MST)

You can find it inside "iOSUpdater", which is located in "iOSUpdater.app". --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Srb21103 (talk) 12:07, 16 November 2012 GMT. Please consult this page for more info on how to sign pages, and how to fix this.
If it is a link on Apples Servers just add it. I am not updating my iPhone 5 as I want to get a link on the updater first. But as I am on business travel I don't have my network scanning equipment available :-) --M2m 06:54, 16 November 2012 (MST)
this looks like it deals with the iPhone 5's OTA update patch... --5urd 08:27, 16 November 2012 (MST)
Thanks I downloaded the IPA mentioned in the PList. --M2m 09:06, 16 November 2012 (MST)
That's bizarre. All I can see is it mounts a DMG and then moves the data off it to the root partition (/dev/{DMG}/dev/* -> /dev/*). But I'm still looking through it. --5urd 14:44, 17 November 2012 (MST)
After i put the updater app on my phone I can't use the 6.0.1 OTA update. Will always quit with error. --M2m 02:28, 17 November 2012 (MST)
Exactly what error? All I can see through it is that it needs root permisions to run. What might be going on is that the updater daemon sees that the "app" is installed and as such allows the update, but because the "app's" internal daemon hasn't been run to patch the device, the update fails. --5urd 14:46, 17 November 2012 (MST)
It will just say it can not install because an error occurred. No further details. This happened after I deleted the updater.app from my device via iTunes. Not sure if it will work if it is still on the device. Have to check that later. Anyway the OTA function will think it can update after you installed the updater.app one time on the device. No matter if it there or not. --M2m 18:01, 17 November 2012 (MST)
Ok it will uddate if you have the app on the phone and start the updating process via the app.--M2m 06:29, 18 November 2012 (MST)

Nice to see you guys are having fun playing around with the updater :). If you want to install it the proper way, use the "Install" link I added to the page (on your iDevice). --Srb21103 00:59, 19 November 2012 (MST)

Regarding iOS 6.0.2

Can anyone confirm that an iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0 will still do the same process when attempting to update to iOS 6.0.2? --Srb21103 (talk) 10:59, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

It most likely does as this patch is a patch to the iOS 6.0 updater daemon --5urd (talk) 18:05, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
I don't have an iPhone 5, but the OTA update XML suggests Trampoline is still in use (i.e. 6.0 units cannot update to 6.0.2 directly). --Dialexio (talk) 20:04, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
