This is the 5th generation of iPad, though other 9.7" models were introduced before. It was announced on March 21, 2017.

Application processor

The iPad (5th generation) makes use of the Apple A9 processor.


There are two variants:

  • iPad (5th generation) (Wi-Fi) (Model A1822)
  • iPad (5th generation) (Cellular) (Model A1823)
