iDevice Software / Boot Bricks

In my study Software bricks, e.g Updating the iOS or Restoring, and Boot,e.g iBoot, iBEC etc; If the iBEC is broken it wont go into Restore Mode, Even via DFU but using an aid like iREC and Steak4source its possible to get it booting into WTF then DFU then Restore Mode. This is a little thing i had found out. This is only for A-4 Devices and maybe under.

If restoring software / updating and your computer shuts down or cord disconnects from the pc whilst updating, this can have dramatic effects on the iBEC to the Software Installation depending on the stage its up to. The variability of having a broken iBEC can be useful if knowing how to use it.

I will continue on this later.

Please discuss

Hi Arc. I've just rolled back your latest addition to the bricked article. While it is completely true what you said there, this is not relevant to the article and perhaps also not to this wiki. The bricked article is about real bricking, meaning no way back - throw away the device (or in case of the baseband, just making an iPod touch out of the iPhone). You were writing about some software which causes reboot loops and such, but a firmware restore fixes this, so it's not a bricking. I think it's also not a good idea to even mention these pirate repos. I hope you understand. Feel free to discuss on the bricking talk page in case you disagree with this. --http 07:19, 4 March 2012 (MST)
