: 1) There is a Local Authentication framework that got introduced in iOS 8, but the BiometricKit is still private IIRC. 2) Yes, I do believe that the Touch ID is tied with your phone's SEP in such a way that if you replaced with and didn't "re-pair" the replacement with your phone it will not boot. 1) There is a Local Authentication framework that got introduced in iOS 8, but the BiometricKit is still private IIRC. 2) Yes, I do believe that the Touch ID is tied with your phone's SEP in such a way that if you replaced with and didn't "re-pair" the replacement with your phone it will not boot.
