The MacBook Pro (16-inch, M1, 2021) was introduced at Apple's 'Unleashed' event on 18 October 2021.

It is the first MacBook Pro (16-inch) to feature Apple Silicon as part of the transition from x86_64-based Intel processors.
It was made available for preorder on the 18 October 2021, and for purchase on the 26 October 2021.

There are two models:

• M1 Pro (J316sAP, MacBookPro18,3)
• M1 Max (J316cAP, MacBookPro18,4)
