The iPod touch 5G's cameras, both front and rear camera are capable with Low Light Boost feature introduced by Apple as same as the iPhone 5 (and newer). But the feature is disabled by default. You can enable it by jailbreaking your iPod touch and installing the Cydia tweak called LLBiPT5, developed by PoomSmart

The camera with Low Light Boost activated will increase the maximum ISO from 640 to 1600.
