The iPhone SE (1st generation) was introduced at Apple's "Let us loop you in." event in {{date|2016|03}}. There are two versions of the iPhone SE (1st generation) that use the same [[firmware]], but different [[OTA Updates|OTA updates]]: the [[N69AP]] and [[N69uAP]]. The iPhone SE (1st generation) has the model numbers A1662, A1723, and A1724. The firmware identifier is iPhone8,4.

== Application Processor ==
The iPhone SE (1st generation) makes use of Apple's [[A9]] SoC. The A9 is manufactured by both Samsung and TSMC, and is assigned different chip IDs based on this.

Samsung manufactures the [[S8000]] found in the [[N69uAP]] model, and TSMC manufactures the [[S8003]] in the [[N69AP]] model.
