Summary

A configuration profile is basically a plain .plist file which can contain different payloads generated from iPhone Configuration Utility (passcode lock, restrictions, Wi-Fi, VPN, Email, Exchange ActiveSync, LDAP, CalDAV, CardDAV, subscribed calendars, web clips, X.509 certificates, SCEP, MDM and APN) and/or edit devices' preference files (located in /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences).
