Caffè Macs is a food ordering and delivery app used by Apple employees working at corporate campuses in Cupertino, Elk Grove, and Sunnyvale, California, as well as Austin, Texas. Employees can use the app to place remote orders with campus restaurants for pickup or office delivery during mealtimes.

After signing in with AppleConnect, employees can use the map to find their nearest Caffè Macs location and begin the order process. If the user is inside or very close to a restaurant, the device detects iBeacons nearby and defers the user to use the in-store kiosk to order instead. Once at the menu, the user can reuse Favorited orders, or create a new order with any number of items. For each food item, the following nutritional information is listed: Calories, Fat, Carbohydrates, Sugars, Protein, and Fiber.

Once the cart is full, the app allows the user to choose from four payment methods:

  • Meal Program - The employee pays through a meal program in which they have previously enrolled. Meal programs vary by campus.
  • Meal Voucher - A meal voucher is redeemed for the value of the order. Similar to gift cards, meal vouchers can be purchased and transferred to other employees, or they can be administered by corporate for miscellaneous reasons.
  • Payroll Deduction - The due total is deducted from the employee's paycheck. This payment method requires the acceptance of additional Terms of Service.
  • Apple Pay - The application invokes payment through Apple Pay. This payment method only shows if the user's device is supported and has at least one card loaded.

If the user is not satisfied with their order, they can refund it.
