The App Store is an application for the iPhone and iPod touch designed/created by Apple. It allows users to browse and download applications, which were developed by using the iPhone SDK and published through Apple after successful review. Apple offers 70 percent of the money from the Apps go to the owner, whilst Apple retains 30 percent. The App Store first opened on July 11, 2008 through a Software Update (2.0) which was free to iPhone users but cost a small amount to iPod touch users.
