These messages show up after creating a folder? Strange. Are you sure that you didn't enabled "apple-internal-install" GC capability before doing that? --pjakuszew 11:45, 30 August 2011 (MDT)
: Not that I am aware of. I did a tethered JB (as I am on 4.3.5), added the folders via sftp, rebooted, msg showed up. --M2m 17:15, 30 August 2011 (MDT)
::So I assume that SpringBoard automatically enables that capability when /AppleInternal is present, then. If you enable it in your device's capabilities file, these messages also show up --pjakuszew 04:17, 31 August 2011 (MDT)
:::Does anyone actually know where iOS finds these strings? Eg on the leaked screenshots from prototypes it contains 'Apple Confidential' etc. This doesn't seem to be in InternalSettings.bundle Beau 05:09, 31 August 2011 (MDT)
::::I posted that on my Twitter a few days ago, SB looks for them in SpringBoard.app/<your language>.lproj/SpringBoard-Internal.strings --pjakuszew 06:56, 31 August 2011 (MDT)
::::: Whats your twitter ;) ? --M2m 09:20, 31 August 2011 (MDT)
Totally weird. I added the Internal_Install strings to the lockscreen. After I wasn't able to start Safari anymore (just didn't start). And also redsn0w 0.9.8b3 wasn't able to identify the ipsw (4.3.4) anymore so I couldn't get into tethered JB. Weird - but interesting..--M2m 18:09, 31 August 2011 (MDT)
:Safari stops working on some tethered jailbreaks if not booted tethered... Also, did you happen to accidentally modify the firmware file at all? That may be why redsn0w didn't accept it. --rdqronos 06:42, 3 September 2011 (MDT)
: Thanks for the info about Safari. I don't think I modified the firmware accidently. Anyway a reboot helped for redsn0w to work. --M2m 07:15, 3 September 2011 (MDT)
:Glad it all works :D --rdqronos 09:14, 3 September 2011 (MDT)
The folder creation to show up the messages only works on iOS4 and not any longer on iOS5 (b7?). Anyone can confirm ?--M2m 17:32, 15 September 2011 (MDT)
Sandboxing
@Beau: The difference imo is that I don't even touch Safari here at all and it still gets affected. Or am I mistaken ? M2m

Nope, the message still pops up when the directory is present in iOS 5. As for the confidential message. Just copy and paste the Sprngboard-Internal.strings from the wiki article and save it in /Springboard.app/Your-Language/, resring and you'll have the proper text. You can also mod it to say whatever you want ;)

Some comments from my side:
* This wiki is no place to get support. Use a support site instead (like http://www.jailbreakqa.com).
* Make sure your device is in real DFU mode (black screen), not Recovery Mode
* Pwn the device with redsn0w before you restore. If you're using cfw, this is required anyway.
-- http 10:30, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
:Sorry for misusing this wiki - deleted accordingly. Anyhow both real DFU and Recovery where checked on the (already pwned) device. --M2m 16:51, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
iPhone 4S source?
Hi. What's your source for this edit? http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=N94ap&diff=prev&oldid=21679 --beej 06:43, 13 October 2011 (MDT)

:The IPSW for the 4S contains the baseband (Trek-1.0.11.Release.bbfw) which is a ZIP file. restoredbl.mbn then contains references to the QSC6695. Also the firmware Version is a different one then for the CMDA iP4. So it can't be the MDM6600 I guess --M2m 07:56, 13 October 2011 (MDT)

::Looks like it's known as MDM6610 http://bit.ly/iPhone_4S_Teardown --beej 11:40, 13 October 2011 (MDT)

::: I stand corrected :-) --M2m 17:50, 13 October 2011 (MDT)
